'DOGS DROP GAME TWO VS. RAILCATS



LINCOLN, NE – RHP Zach Keenan delivered three scoreless innings out of the bullpen but the Saltdogs fell 4-1 to the Gary SouthShore Railcats on Saturday night.


Keenan came in relief of LHP John Bezdicek, allowing one hit, with two strikeouts. Bezdicek allowed four runs – one earned – across five innings in his second start of the season.


The Railcats (5-3) scored three unearned runs in the second inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, 2B Nate Samson dropped a pop-up that allowed two runs to score. DH Jesus Marriaga later added a run with an infield single.


In the fifth, Marriaga led off the inning with a double and LF LG Castillo drove him in with an RBI single to make it 4-0.


Railcats’ starter LHP Chris Erwin posted five and a third scoreless innings in his second start of the season, lowering his ERA to 1.69.


CF Nick Anderson snapped the shutout bid with a leadoff homer in the 9th – his second homer in three games. The Saltdogs (3-5) finished with a season-low five hits.


The rubber match of the weekend series is set for Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Pre-game coverage starts at 12:35 on KFOR FM 101.5/1240 AM.
